AHA - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

American Heart Association ACLS course is designed for the healthcare professionals based on a solid foundation of BLS skills and building from there. We teach to the ACLS guidelines:

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED

  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest

  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia

  • Airway management

  • Related pharmacology

  • Management of ACS and stroke

  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

At the completion of the course you will receive an ACLS - Provider card from the American Heart Association.

AHA - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

American Heart Association PALS course is designed for the healthcare professional working with infant and child populations. We teach to the AHA PALS standard:

  • High-quality Child CPR AED and Infant CPR

  • Recognition of patients who do and do not require immediate intervention

  • Recognition of cardiopulmonary arrest early and application of CPR within 10 seconds

  • Apply team dynamics

  • Differentiation between respiratory distress and failure

  • Early interventions for respiratory distress and failure

  • Differentiation between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock

  • Early interventions for the treatment of shock

  • Differentiation between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias

  • Clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias

  • Post–cardiac arrest management

At the completion of the course you will receive an PALS - Provider card from the American Heart Association.

What to Expect

There is a moderate amount of physical activity that is required for administering life saving CPR. The student should be able to kneel on the ground for a minimal of 10 minutes at a time. The student should be a healthcare professional and already have taken a BLS course.
