Michael is a Critical Care Paramedic at the West Valley City Fire Department and a Flight Paramedic for Intermountain Life Flight. Michael has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Geology from the University of Utah and trained as a Paramedic at Utah Valley University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Services Administration. He has extensive teaching experience and is currently a structural fire instructor at the West Valley Fire Academy and is Adjunct Instructor of Emergency Medical Services at Utah Valley University teaching EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic classes. He is involved with the Medical Division at West Valley Fire Department by coordinating and instructing courses including Advanced EMT and numerous AHA and NAEMT certification classes. Michael has guided and instructed rock and ice climbing as well as mountaineering at climbing gyms, at The University of Utah, and several guiding services in Utah and California. He has been rock, ice, and alpine climbing all around the world including: Peru, Alaska, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Thailand, and all over the US. He has bused through central America, backpacked in Costa Rica, spelunked in Thailand, completed a Master’s Degree Program working in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia and enjoys backcountry skiing and trail running.

Jill is a registered nurse with over 9 years critical care medical experience. She is a Charge Nurse at Shock Trauma ICU and Intermountain Healthcare (a Level I Trauma Center), works part-time at Brighton Ski Resort’s medical clinic, and prn with Donor Connect. Jill has always loved international travel and the outdoors. Right after high school, Jill traveled to India for a summer to work with an organization that houses, clothes, and feeds orphans with special needs. She has also helped build an elementary school in Kenya. Jill has traveled all around the world including every Central American country, Germany, Turkey, India, Greece, Kenya, and Italy. Jill has also worked several summers as a river and climbing guide in Moab, UT. As a nurse, she has worked at numerous intensive care units including the Neurocritical Care Unit at the University of Utah Hospital and the Shock Trauma ICU at Intermountain Medical Center in Utah. Jill finds rock climbing, backcountry snowboarding, mountain biking, and travel as a way to unwind and reset from her high-stress job.
